About our founder, Mrs. La-Tanya Carter

Mrs. La-Tanya Carter, CEO, has earned a Master of Science in Mental Health and wellness and a Bachelor's in Business Management and Human Resources. She gained youth leadership skills from working with a local religious charitable organization. She is a fierce advocate for marginalized groups. Impactful community projects are her way of reaching children and inspiring their development.

Mrs. Carter would further her dreams of community empowerment with the establishment of There Is Hope Foundation, Inc. (501c3) in Petersburg, Virginia, in 2019. She has a mandate from God to “Handle the stress of school children.” The Foundation would adopt Lakewood Elementary School, providing for the students through a series of events.

The children receive donations at the start of the school year, during the holiday season, and into
the winter months. Donations are requested and received throughout the year. There Is Hope Foundation is a staple in the community. The children and their families welcome
the kindness of strangers.
